Ian Weekley (1932-2005) was born into an artistic family. After completing his National Service he studied printmaking at the Sir John Cass School of Art. He later studied with Keith Vaughan at the Central School of Art. He went on to teach printmaking at Luton School of Art. He retired from teaching in 1975 and spent the rest of his career making scale model castles for which he became well-known.
