Phil Rogers (1951-2020) was a leading Welsh studio potter. Art-school trained as an artist he was self-taught as a potter beginning his work in the 1970s. Inspired by the cermaics of Korea and Japan his work achieved a great level of skills and artistic merit especially with ash glazing and salt glazing techniques. His work is held in over 40 museums worldwide including the Victoria and Albert Museum.
