Kaj Franck early sculptural soda glass vase with twisted design and internal bubbles. Designed for iittala, Finland c1947. Signed to the base Kaj Franck iittala.

An important early piece of modern Finnish glass design by Franck. One of his earliest pieces. He started designing for iittala in 1946 when he was a joint winner of their annual design prize with Tapio Wirkkala. He left to join the competitor glass factory Nuutajärvi Notsjö in 1951 so this piece dates to the late 1940s. Wirkkala also experimented with soda glass pieces with bubbles in the late 1940s.

Excellent used condition.
