Arne Johansen modernist pendant with blue ball, Denmark c1960s

Modernist pendant by Arne Johansen, Denmark. This design comprises  an open square with blue bead on a hook fitting suitable for wearing with a torque or heavy chain. The hook could be closed up to fit a regular chain. 

Probably dating to the 1960s, this pendant is in excellent vintage condition and is marked AJ 925S. 

Arne Johansen was a leader in the field of modernist design in Danish jewellery in the post-war years. He began his work in Roskilde in 1954 and remained there working until the studio closed in 1993. He is best known for his sleek, simple modern designs.
