Very individual brutalist necklace by Swedish silversmith Per Arne Terrs. The length of the neclace is around 51cm and the textured central feature measures  c 10x3 cm. The links on the chain have curved surfaces and are graduated in size from 2.3 cm at the front to 1.4 cm by the fastener. The necklace weighs c70g.

This piece is marked  TERRS, w for Växjö,  the Swedish control marks, Sterling and U9 (year 1970). It is in excellent vintage condition.

Per Arne Terrs (born 1939) studied art in Germany, Sweden and Poland before becoming the artistic director at Terrs in Växjö, Sweden, where he worked from 1964-88. Many of his designs feature Kosta glass from his collaboration on the 1960s with Mona Morales-Schildt.  His public art includes decorations and church silver in Stockholm and Växjö, and a wall mobile for Norrängen Hospital, Växjö. The National Museum in Stockholm and Pforzheim in Germany own work by Terrs.
