Silver plated pendant and chain, Kalevala Koru, Finland

Vintage silver plated pendant and figaro chain by Kalevala Koru, Finland. The cross pendant measures 5 cm and the chain is 50 cm long.

Both the pendant and chain are in very good vintage condition. At the bail and the catch on the chain use has worn away a little of the silver plate though you need to look closely to see this.

Kalevala is a design company which was set up in the 1930s by Finnish women who began selling jewellery with the aim of funding a statue but their income was actually to help women and families who were victims of war. In September 2020 Kalevala and Lapponia companies merged into the new Kalevala brand.
