Excellent condition. No damage, there is a firing mark in the glaze near the base of the vase.
Horst Kerstan (1941-2005) was a leading ceramicist in West Germany in the latter part of the Twentieth Century. Inspired by Chinese ceramic traditions he brought a rigour to form and glazing but with a distinctly modern take on ceramic objects. He specialised in wood fired glazing with produces rich and subtle effects on a pot. He is a leading figure in German ceramics.
