Asta Strömberg Sputnik colourless glass vase, Orrefors, Sweden, 1970s. Unsigned. Orrefors green sticker denoting a factory second.

This vase was originally designed by Asta Strömberg in the 1950s for Strömbergshyttan. That factory was acquired by Orrefors after it shut in 1976 and they continued to produce some of the earlier designs, including this one.

Excellent condition.

Asta Strömberg (1916-2011) was a Swedish glass designer. She spent most of her career at Strömbergshyttan, a factory owned by her husband's family,  where she produced numerous designs. Her work is held in the National Museum, Stockholm.
