In 1959 he was the first journalist to interview Che Guevara and Fidel Castro after they had captured Havana. Throughout his long life he has painted in a loose cubist manner. His work was exhibited in important Bienale such as the Panamericana in Mexico and in Sao Paulo in 1958. In 1963 he returned to Italy where he has lived ever since.
