Astrid Fog 'Joy' silver necklace design 126 for Georg Jensen, Denmark, 1970s. This is the large size. The heart-shaped pendant measures c6.5 x 6.5 and the chain of linked rods is 76 cm. A real statement!

The pendant is marked with the Georg Jensen logo, 126, 925S (indicating Sterling silver), Denmark. It is in good vintage condition with minor surface marks from wear — see photos.

Astrid Fog (1911-93) was a fashion designer who initially designed jewellery to accessorise her clothes. She began working for Georg Jensen silversmiths in 1969 and the 'Joy' pendant became her most successful design.
She was also associated with the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Company and participated in exhibitions at the Danish National Arts and Crafts Association.
