He left to join the competitor glass factory Nuutajärvi Notsjö in 1951 so this piece dates to the late 1940s. Wirkkala also experimented with soda glass pieces with bubbles in the late 1940s.

Excellent used condition.

Kaj Franck (1911-89) was one of Finland's leading post-war designers bringing together beauty and function in everyday objects and interior design. An industrial designer in the fullest sense, he designed many objects for everyday use from ceramics to glass to cutlery that he wanted to be accessible to all. He was also prolific in designing art glass for factories such as iittala and Nuutajärvi Notsjö. He was a Professor at the Helsinki School of Art and Design and exhibited worldwide.
